Rosewood Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is Hiring an Unit Clerk Near Schuylkill Haven, PA

POSITION SUMMARY:Under general supervision, assist nursing with daily functions as listed below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

It is understood that these duties shall be fulfilled to ensure all corporate goals are achieved.

1.Schedule resident appointments, surgeries, diagnostic and therapeutic services, etc and compile documents to accompany resident.

a.Schedule Transportation for the level needed via a web portal and phone.

b.Verify Insurance and obtain referrals when necessary.

c.Complete medical necessity forms.

d.Contact responsible party about the appointments.

e.Prepare documents needed for appointment.

f.Communicate needs with nursing staff.

2.Schedule appointment for in-house contracted physicians.

a.Gather information for visiting physicians (i.e. eye, dental, etc) and assist when needed.

b.Schedule residents for the hairdresser.

c.Maintain visitation logs for all listed above and reschedule when necessary.

3.Record medical and administrative information into the EMR.

4.Make daily rounds to collect documents to scan and download/upload to resident charts.

5.Conduct monthly chart audits for proper documentation.

6.Responsible for resident room identification and room changes.

7.Maintain and organize nursing forms on all units and assist with updating when required.

8.Accompany resident to health appointments or transport to in-house appointments when needed.

9.Assist the Medical Records Director with other assigned duties.

QALIFICATIONS:

  1. Any combination of education and experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed above.
  2. Qualifications for this position is completion of high school degree or the equivalent.Prior experience is preferred.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

1.Familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook, PDF files and the ability to learn electronic medical record charting.

2.Knowledge of medical terminology.Familiar with types of diagnostic testing and surgeries preferred.

3.Basic knowledge of medical insurance plans, CPT and ICD-9 codes and keeping current with updates and pre-authorization guidelines.

  1. Basic knowledge of requirements for charting and recording medical information.
  2. Maintain HIPPA compliance and confidentiality at all times with regards to medical records and resident information.

6.Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are required.

7.Ability to work independently and proactively.

a.Must be organized.

b.Ability to cooperate as member of work unit and effectively communicate with staff.

8.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner.

  1. Ability to problem solve, multi-task and be detail-oriented required.
  2. Operate standard office equipment including printers, copiers, fax machines and scanners.
  3. Ability to demonstrate physical fitness to include standing and walking for extended periods of time, moderate to heavy lifting (over 30 lbs) and ability to push a wheelchair (up to 200 lbs).
